(Not) Terrible two

In Growing Up Baby, List of Firsts on May 7, 2009 at 3:36 pm

My daughter just turned two a few days ago (and we spent her birthday at the zoo, which she loved by the way), and she has grown up so fast. Her age is supposed to be the “terrible two’s” and I certainly notice some “attitude” in her. She’s very picky with food, says “no” a lot, has her occasional tantrums, and asserts her individuality and freedom more often.

Top 5: Reasons I love Yo Gabba Gabba!

In Top 5 on February 26, 2009 at 3:53 pm

When I first saw Yo Gabba Gabba! on air, I thought it was weird . But after a few episodes of catching it on Nick Jr. (which you can never avoid if you have a two-year-old), it quickly grew on me (and apparently to a lot of US college students having a trip). Now, it’s my favorite kids’ show (and yes Baby Girl likes it too). Here are my top 5 reasons why:

Like baby, like mommy

In Mommy Chronicles on February 10, 2009 at 1:20 pm

When our daughter was born — in fact, even when she was in her mom’s womb (the marvel of 3D ultrasound) — she  looked so much like me when I was a baby: round face, sharp nose, even a little Caucasian-looking (believe it or not). I felt quite giddy and proud (even relieved, since I always taunt my wife that she was an ugly duckling as a kid…of course, I quickly add that she since transformed into a beautiful swan, lest I get banned from entering our room). That lasted for maybe 3 months.

Super-happy couples

In Who's Your Daddy? on January 18, 2009 at 2:03 pm

Just thought I’d share this article about marriage. It’s something we can all learn from. Here are some excerpts:

Daily Habit #1: Talk to Each Other

Happily married couples typically say their relationships work better when they can sit down and gab one-on-one, like thinking, feeling adults.
“…we find that if we don’t take that time to connect with each other, it’s really easy for life to get in the way…”

Top 5: 2008 Highlights

In The Joys of Fatherhood, Top 5 on January 11, 2009 at 1:53 pm

How time flies indeed. This is a little late but I thought it was nice to document the highlights of being a dad last year:

  1. Dedicating Baby Girl to the Lord (and sharing our testimony of God’s goodness)
  2. Celebrating her first birthday with family and friends
  3. Witnessing a lot of her firsts (talking, walking, jumping, running, hand gestures, etc.)
  4. Having fun with her (in the mall, going out of town, playing at home, walking around the village looking for cats, etc.)
  5. Seeing her transition from being an infant to baby to toddler (and realizing she is so much like her mom)

What top 5 am I talking about?!? The entire year was a highlight for as a father as was the year before.
